Bride accidentally takes sleeping pills on her wedding day — but that wasn't the only thing to go wrong

What was supposed to be the most exciting day of a woman's life quickly turned into her worst nightmare. On the morning of her wedding day, the bride, Jade Jensen, accidentally took sleeping pills instead of her usual medication. She took Restavit, a sleep aid meant for people suffering from insomnia, instead of Nurofen, the over-the-counter painkiller she intended to take. Jensen, who is from South Australia, posted a TikTok video opening up about the incident.

The text overlay of her TikTok video read, "Little does she know she's about to open this bottle of champagne and the cork will hit her forehead the morning of her wedding, and she'll accidentally take two Restavit instead of Nurofen." As reported by People magazine, Jensen revealed that the incident occurred when she was enjoying brunch with her friends. She said, "I was opening a bottle of Veuve to start the morning tea when I took the cage off and wasn't holding tight enough when the cork, full speed, hit my forehead," as reported by Newsweek. Worried about getting a bruise and to relieve the pain, Jensen hurried to the freezer to get some ice.

Jensen’s makeup artist, who also happened to be a nurse, recommended she take a Nurofen. In a hurry, she searched through her medicine box, grabbed a silver packet with white pills, and swallowed two. But as soon as she did, panic set in. She said, "Half-a-pill puts me to sleep, so two whole pills was going to put me in a coma. I ran to the toilet in an attempt to get them out. I wasn't sure if I had, as I had just eaten breakfast." As the situation escalated, Jensen's family and friends gathered around her, offering comfort and support.

Her mom reached out to the groom to make sure he knew what was going on. The mix-up with the medication wasn’t the only thing that went wrong on Jensen’s big day. As she made her way down the aisle, her dog got a little too excited to see her and unknowingly pulled off her three-meter-long veil. Despite the setbacks, Jensen said she laughs whenever she thinks about the day, dubbing it 'absolutely hilarious' and, in the end, an unforgettable wedding.
