Personalities, lifestyles, and outlooks that people have towards the world differ from person to person on the basis of their experiences, economic background, and social status. But love transcends all these boundaries and makes it possible for people from diverse backgrounds to get married and build new lives together. Among such couples are Michaela and Alex, who go by @cuddleswpuddles on TikTok, and they decided to share some of the major differences in their ideologies and way of living shaped by the households they grew up in.

While Michaela grew up in a low-income family, Alex was raised in an affluent household, and so in a minute-long video, Michaela and Alex share eye-opening insights about their differences. The first thing Michaela shares is how they have polarizing opinions on shopping and keeping receipts. "I keep all of my receipts in case there is something wrong with something that I bought and have to return it," Michaela states. "Alex does not keep receipts because if there is something wrong with what he bought, he will just buy another one."

The differences are also reflected in their eating habits as Alex only eats his meal until the point he feels full, while Michaela always manages to make sure she finishes everything on her plate. She recalls the time from her childhood when she was not allowed to leave the table until she had eaten everything on her plate. "I was wasteful if I did not," Michaela remarks. She is also keen on repurposing things like empty glass jars and has a collection of them. She finds ways to reuse them but Alex either throws out such stuff or gives it away for recycling.

"Michaela keeps everything from every takeout restaurant we have ever ordered from," Alex remarks in another video. "There is a whole drawer full of this stuff. She also keeps all of our gift bags, which are great for holidays, birthdays, and gift-giving, making it a lot easier." "Every time I leave a room and leave the light switch on, she will turn it off. Even if I am going right back into that room a minute later," he adds describing how his wife saves on the electricity bill. He also notes how he would finish all of their leftovers in the fridge but Michaela will not because it is a byproduct of her growing up with food insecurity.

Alex concludes the video by stating that everyone has differences depending on how they grew up but one can figure out the big things, while the small things will work themselves out. The TikTok community praised Michaela for being transparent about the differences between the lifestyle of the couple even though they live together and many could relate to her. @killing_itwkeats wondered, "The jars and receipts are wild. My mom will go back to the store if she gets overcharged by $2." @localtrashgoblin420 mentioned, "I never realized I experienced food insecurity until I grew up and won't eat anything I bought because I'm afraid I won't be able to afford more food." @amberburke94 added, "Having to finish my meal as a child because of waste, has caused me to have an unhealthy relationship with food as an adult."
