Crowd at airport stunned after seeing a toddler humming this iconic rock anthem by Queen
There are rock bands and then there are absolute legends such as the iconic group Queen. Led by the extraordinary Freddie Mercury, the band etched its name in musical history with the 1975 hit "Bohemian Rhapsody." Although music lovers and rock fans are often seen reminiscing about the track or recording covers, a cranky toddler humming the melody when her flight was delayed was something no one expected. In a video shared by u/mindyour on Reddit, a child can be seen singing Bohemia Rhapsody, leaving everyone present stunned.
"Plane was delayed 5 hours but all good, our 2-year-old was providing live entertainment, featuring Queen," the text accompanying the video read. A man, who is presumably a family member can be seen pushing the toddler's stroller as she continued singing while waving goodbye to fellow travelers. The Reddit community also applauded the little one for picking the iconic song as part of her impromptu performance.
u/No-Elk5320 wrote, "That is so cute. She is doing a good job and I know it brightened everyone up because you couldn't be frustrated hearing that." u/PairFantastic1351 commented, "It really doesn't matter the age of the child. She is doing awesome." u/TrueChanges88 noted, "So nobody is going to mention her use of the mic?! That was awesome." u/New2dis11 added, "Hahaha the timing on the last line was great." A few people mentioned that the travelers at the airport were probably getting annoyed with the child crying out loud until they noticed the tune that she was humming.
In a similar incident, a first-grader kid decided to sing "Peaches" at his school and entertained his peers while performing for his autistic brother. The video featuring the boy was shared on his TikTok page @letsgocairo and amassed over 6 million views. "My 7-year-old son sang 'Peaches' at his school and the crowd went crazy," the voiceover in the video revealed. The kid can be spotted wearing a bright yellow Bowser costume from the "Super Mario 2" film as he played the piano and sang.
"This one is for my one and only true love Princess Peach," he added before singing, "Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches, Peaches I love you oh." That was when the rest of the kids present at the scene started waving their hands and singing along with him. Koomson's mom Tracy told TODAY that her younger son Eli has autism and he was in tears after watching his brother perform. “For Eli to show emotion was a big deal. I can count on one hand where he’s appropriately cried,” Tracy said.
The "Peaches" song holds a special meaning for the Koomson family since Eli had surprised his family by singing the same song a few days before the viral performance. His mother shared that Eli usually uses three to four sentences to communicate with others. “My 3-year-old daughter looked at me and Cairo looked at me and we were all like, ‘What is going on? Is this happening?’” Tracy said before she teared up. “Of course when I tried to get Eli to do it again so I could tape it, he wouldn’t." Actor Chris Pratt, who was part of the "Super Mario Bros" film cast, also appreciated Koomson for his performance and posted the video on his Instagram story at that point.
