Parenting is not a one-size-fits-all job, as what works for one child might not work for the other, and this, perhaps, explains why most parents have distinctive ways of dealing with their kids individually. While the parenting approach based on the child's nature, personality, and needs might be different, the love remains equally beautiful. Similarly, Brian Benson, a single father from New York, had convinced his two teen daughters that he loved all his kids equally until they realized someone else had already booked the 'favorite child' spot in their dad's heart. And that someone was none other than their adorable Golden Retriever, Magnus.

In a video posted on @magnusthetherapydog, Benson's daughters recorded the exact moment they realized their father was lying all this time about loving all his kids equally. "When Dad says he loves all his kids equally, but the fridge tells a different story," read the overlay text on the screen as the camera zoomed to Benson's fridge, revealing countless pictures of his favorite child, Magnus, with just one picture of his daughters discreetly tucked among them. But wait! That's not the end. Instead of placing their family dog's picture on the fridge randomly, Benson went a step ahead by arranging them chronologically, one for every month.

Pets, especially dogs, are widely recognized for their unwavering loyalty and soulful companionship. Perhaps this is why many people, particularly senior citizens, often seek emotional support in these innocent creatures. Notably, as reported by the National Library of Medicine, owning a pet has many health benefits, including increased activity and socialization in elderly adults.

The TikTok video received an overwhelming response on social media, with people seemingly captivated by the man's unconditional love for his canine companion. Meanwhile, reacting to the hilarious video, a user who goes by @georgeserterides revealed, "My daughter once bought me a coffee cup that stated, 'Thank you for loving me almost as much as the dogs.'" Likewise, another person (@tammypaperchaser) shared, "I have three grown kids and only a picture of my dog at my work desk to remind me who I can't wait to see when I get home." On a lighter note, @annapersaud4 revealed, "Took my daughter for an allergy test. I told her, if she has an allergy to the pup, we may have to make alternate arrangements for her housing."

Someone else (@user727028502) pointed out, "I don't see the problem, dad knows who his favourite is...and it's the most handsome one." Yet another user on the platform (@vhyky_goddess) commented, "He actually loves you both equally, but loves his fur baby the more, and this dearest fur baby has got his heart." @supremejasper wrote, "You’re lucky you even got on the fridge. My parents only have dog photos and one of us when we were in 1st grade." Likewise, @amw01010 commented, "His priorities have a lot in common with a large part of the population. No, I am not giving anything away! Hahaha!" @gonecrazy007 pointed out, "Just because he loves you equally doesn’t mean you’re all putting in the same effort to win child of the month."
