The Internet is Gushing Over a Man Oozing Golden Retriever Energy After Seeing his Girlfriend

A partner with golden retriever energy not only brings joy in a relationship but also fills up life with positive vibes and cute moments. A “Golden Retriever boyfriend” is someone who is trusting and kind, unashamed to express his feelings, and full of optimism. That is precisely what a man seen in a viral video looks like when his eyes light up at the sight of his girlfriend.

The woman named Genesis Figueredo shared the short clip of her boyfriend on her TikTok page @figueredogeni. It took only a week for the video to hit viral status when the internet got invested in the couple's dynamics to appreciate the Golden retriever energy of the 28-year-old graphic designer's partner. Figueredo filmed her boyfriend Orlando Corredor walking towards her after cutting across a crowd. But before he spots her, Corredor has a stern expression on his face. With Evanescence's music playing in the background, it's hard to imagine Figueredo's boyfriend as a goofy individual. 

But a few seconds into the video, Corredor notices his girlfriend filming him and his expression immediately shifts. He flashes a bright smile and almost skips towards Figueredo. The background music switches as well and "Unwritten" by Natasha Bedingfield starts playing, complimenting the scenario. The viral video received more than 122 million views and counting and TikTok users flocked in the comment section to leave wholesome messages for the couple. Most people agreed that Corredor's behavior matches that of golden retrievers.

@lexamiller gave a differeng spin and wrote, "I always say this is German shepherd energy cause they are serious and all of a sudden goofy. I have a German shepherd boyfriend." @chonda25 commented, "And that's how I need my man to act every time he sees me." @leej50 joked: "I practically saw the fluffy gold tail start wagging behind him. That was so precious & wholesome!!" @tistelusorsa added: "I mean, most men don't do this and many of those who do are too late cause their last girl wasn't worth it. Now they don't believe in any happy emotion you show them." @blissums remarked, "Aww look at his beautiful smile. We can tell he loves you." For those who are not well-versed in these comparisons on social media, this happens to be part of an ongoing trend.

"The desirability of Golden Retriever boyfriends might also be due to how stressful our current 100mph lives are along with the mental health crisis in young people. Do women aspire to the bad boy type who’s not going to treat them right and cause unnecessary anxiety and stress? Do they have the mental capacity for that at this age?" As for Figueredo and Corredor, things are going pretty well as she recently described how her boyfriend proposed to her atop a high-rise building in a separate video and one person mentioned in the comments how the "Golden Retriever got his permanent owner."
