When the day finally came for Swanzer and her sister to leave for California, their father delivered a surprise that perfectly captured the emotional rollercoaster of daughters leaving home. With tears streaming down his face, he said, “You forgot me.” He then loaded his suitcase into the car and wrapped his daughters in a tight hug.
