Closing 10 seasons, 236 episodes, compelling storytelling, and a hoard of legendary quips, Friends sitcom will always remain a phenomenon. The cast came together for a successful reunion in 2021, two years before the world forever lost one of its beloved actors, Mathew Perry, aka Chandler Bing. At 54, the actor was found unresponsive in a hot tub in his home, shocking the fans globally, as per CNN. The crew is known to be a close-knit family, and a 2004 interview between Jennifer Aniston and ABC's Diane Sawyer has taken another life on the net, featuring the former crying while discussing Perry.

The interview was shot on the pretext of the sitcom coming to an end, where Aniston was invited to Sawyer's ABC Prime Time which was later shared on YouTube by @RottenFairy. In the 27-minute segment, Aniston tackled a lot of questions about her career, her relationships (especially with Brad Pitt), and the impact of the show on her life. The viral clip is from the end part of the interview, where the Bruce Almighty star was asked about each of the members of the show. The question needed her remarks on one secret about her 'friend' that they might not even know about themselves. The actress starts with Courtney Cox, describing her as "gorgeous" while remarking Lisa Kudrow as "warm fire."

But as soon as The Good Girl actress starts talking about Perry, she starts breaking down. For Perry, she utters, "He's alright." The 17 Again actor had a convoluted history of substance abuse. Aniston further adds, "We weren't equipped to deal with it. Nobody had ever dealt with that." The ensemble has been close with each other during their personal battles as well, and this resurfaced interview is the true testimony to that. In a recent interview with Variety, Aniston was again asked about Friends and the family she made out of the show, as the show has now turned 30. The actor was in conversation with Quinta Brunson, and when they started talking about Friends, the actor had to console herself.

As they talked more, Aniston commented, "It's one of greatest gifts for all six of us, we never could imagine." She later added, "It's a family forever, and since it was the 90s, it was just all about the show!" underlying the social media frenzy that stars face today. Time and again, the cast of Friends has proved the love and comradeship they share and Perry's demise took a toll on them as well as millions of fans of the series who viewed the six of them as inseparable.

When the news of Perry's passing came, a statement by the rest of the Friends cast was obtained by People. "We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family," the statement reads. "There is so much to say, but right now, we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time, we will say more, as and when we are able,” the cast mentioned and added, “For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
