Restaurant leaves lonely customer feeling mushy with a heartwarming gesture on their birthday
No one wants to spend their birthday alone since it's an occasion when one wants to be surrounded by family and friends. But sometimes people end up on their own for their birthday and a Reddit user who shared their bittersweet birthday experience with the online community was one of them. But despite being lonely the person was able to fill that void with a pizza.
The customer had placed a pizza order with an interesting note attached for a New York pizza restaurant. The note read: "It's my birthday and not even my family called me. I am sad and I really like olives. Please put on as many black olives as you can. I want you to put on so many black olives that you start to question mine and your own sanity. As much as you can without being fired." The customer also made sure to place an order for 3 portions of chicken nuggets and a Pepsi.
The restaurant happily complied with the order and loaded up the sad customer's pizza with enough olives to cover the whole pizza's top. They even drew a picture of a birthday cake and wrote 'Happy Birthday' along with "feliz cumpleanons" inside the pizza box. The customer took to the comment section of Reddit and also replied to a few comments, thanking netizens for their wishes and kind words. u/Cellophane7 wrote, "I've worked a ton of pizza jobs, and this is the kind of stuff I lived for. It's easy to get lost in the monotony, but getting an opportunity to cheer up a stranger was always a joy. Plus, it's fun to be a little creative with box art. I remember every single instance of people asking for weird custom stuff like this. Just wanted you to know you made their night as well. Happy birthday!"

In a similar incident from 2015, a pizzeria called Pizza My Heart in Menlo Park, California received a strange request from a customer that included some special delivery instructions, as per Little Things.
The customer sent a note to the pizza joint that read: "Send us your cutest delivery boy. Tell me I'm pretty." The delivery boy who was tasked with sending the pizza to the customer expected to walk into a group of sorority girls waiting for their pizza. But instead, he was fairly surprised after reaching the designated delivery location. The customer had ordered two pizzas costing $44.50 in total and there was only one young lady waiting for her meal. She explained to the delivery boy that it was her birthday and even though she had invited her friends to come over and celebrate, nobody showed up to her party.
So the delivery boy took his time, had a hearty chat with the girl, and even accepted a slice of birthday cake that the girl offered. The delivery boy wished her a happy birthday on the stoop while the two chatted for a few minutes. She invited him inside for a slice of cake and they spent the next hour talking and laughing. He did get a written warning from the restaurant for taking way too long to return. But at the end of the day, the delivery boy was glad he could cheer the birthday girl up, give her a hug and call her pretty.
