The story starts with a girl nicknamed Lemon and her blossoming relationship with a boy she met when his mother caught her stealing lemons from a tree by their driveway, and Lemon used them to make a pie to say sorry. They developed a loving relationship but over the course of time the girl tells her boyfriend that "her heart is in no condition to love" and she decides to break up with him.

Lemon also admitted that the boy had no flaws but she still had to break up for a reason. She asks the boy not to contact her again. But the boy couldn't resist texting her when she remained absent from school. “Will you promise to never take me out of your heart? Will you promise when you get married, imagine me in the audience cheering for you, with tears, because I know the woman in white won’t be me," she leaves a final cryptic message before blocking the boy's number. Later on, the girl's mom texts the boy to let him know that she has passed away from heart failure and sends him the details of her funeral.

Four years later, the boy drops Lemon's contact yet another text to inform her that he has proposed to that special someone and he is sorry. Two months after that, he writes about getting married to his partner and reveals how he felt that Lemon was in the crowd and she was crying, possibly because she wasn't the bride. Seven years later, the boy makes a shocking revelation over the text, writing how he has developed a heart condition too and "maybe their hearts are linked after all."

I’m sobbing at 6:20 in the morning." @howdy_rylee added referring to the story, "My worst fear is that my husband is thinking of someone better than me on our wedding day. That he wouldn’t be marrying me if his first option wasn’t possible. I don’t want to be the second-best choice. I feel bad for the other woman in the story cause like imagine if she goes to the afterlife and she saw her husband with his past lover."
