Mom finds a clever way to handle toddler tantrums and now other parents want to try it too

Toddler's tantrums are a normal part of growing up, and it isn't always easy for parents to calm them down. The little ones have dramatic meltdowns and angry outbursts as they learn to express their emotions. For handling such situations, a mom on TikTok, Alivia Cromartie, who goes by the username @jusssliv, shared a simple technique that might instantly calm your toddler during a meltdown. This silly yet gentle trick has parents everywhere taking notes. Cromartie tried this on her 18-month-old daughter, Icey, and it worked wonders.

In the TikTok video, Icey was about to have a meltdown, but Cromartie quickly normalized the situation by running around her daughter in circles. As Icey watches her mother doing the zoomies, her mood gets better, and she instantly begins to laugh. At the end of the video, Cromartie and Icey share a warm hug. In the caption of the video, the woman wrote, “Works every time,” along with a laughing emoji. As reported by TODAY, Cromartie shared the reason for her daughter's meltdown and said, “Icey gets upset when her food takes too long."

In the text overlay of the video, Cromartie wrote, “POV: This is how you gentle parent when your toddler is on the verge of a meltdown … zoomies!” She went on to reveal that she has been using the zoomies trick everywhere they go, including a grocery store. Cromartie doesn't care about who is watching her. All that matters to her is distracting her child. Social media users took to the comment section of the video to share how this trick has worked wonders for them. One TikTok user, @flukesandfins, commented, “Babies and children don’t need punishment - just a positive distraction to their previous behavior.”
Another person, @kelbimckinley, wrote, “I love this so much. Kiddo is distracted and redirected, having fun, and you're running off your frustration by moving around.” @angelinapaxton chimed in to share a similar experience. “This is actually very interesting. Match their chaotic energy in a positive way to help them turn it positive instead of negative. Very very smart mom.” @smg4561 rightly said, “I love this so much! It probably also eases parental stress caused by the toddler’s meltdown.” @pynkfoxx also stated, “Awww, that hug meant she was sorry for what she did, you can tell. This worked for me with my siblings' kids when they were babies. It works sometimes.”
Meanwhile, another mom on TikTok, @newenglandrunnr, shared an unusual parenting hack to deal with your kid’s tantrums. She shared that whenever her 3-year-old kid is having a tough time, she gives him an ice cube, asking him to throw it in the bathtub, and it surprisingly helps. The woman reveals that she treats her child's tantrums just like an anxiety attack in a grown-up person, and she does this by controlling her son’s physical response before calming him down mentally.
