Inspired by the ‘What’s in my purse’ trend, a mother decided to show the internet what her young daughter carries in her handbag, and it’s hilarious. A woman may stash her entire world into a purse, and it usually gives a hint of their personality. Similarly, Madison Sponsler (@thesponslercrew) unveiled the bizarre list of items tucked away in her 4-year-old girl’s purse in a video on Instagram. However, she could not decide if she was scared or impressed. In the now-viral reel, viewed 7.7 million times, an adorable girl dressed in pink and glamorous shades pops in with a tiny purse of essentials.

“Going through my four-year-old’s purse,” the note on the clip reads while Hannah Montana’s Ordinary Girl plays in the background. Starting with the first rather bulky item, Sponsler lines up 21 baby carrots covered in dog hair recovered from her daughter’s grown-up bag. Next up were two play knives, a ChapStick, and mom’s deodorant she’d been looking for everywhere. As the clip unreeled, things got way more random with the mom flaunting a stick of butter, a random block, a wad of lunch meat, and finally, play scissors. “Not sure if I’m scared or impressed,” the post was captioned.

Though it was difficult to judge, Sponsler revealed her favorite item from her daughter, Liberty’s essentials. “The wad of lunch meat was my personal favorite," Sponsler told Newsweek. However, the youngster’s most-used item was the blue block that she used as her cell phone. Predictable. "She is sassy [and] if you've met her, you can't forget her!" the proud mom quips, speaking of her daughter who was born with Down syndrome. Sponsler and her husband did not get a hint about her genetic condition during pregnancy. However, the couple has adjusted their lives well to accommodate their special child’s needs, who, in turn, has blessed the parents with her great sense of humor and enthusiasm.

Liberty’s main character's energy had the big girls on the internet rooting for her and attracting a whopping 478,000 likes. One person (@lizbrosio) wrote, “God forbid a woman carries essentials.” While another (@thehouseofwheeler) noted, “The fact that she hid the scissors and knives in the back of the purse where you couldn’t see.” A third viewer (@terri_antoniw) said, “Girl is prepared for anything. But mostly lunch on a hot day.” A comment by @amberandjune stated, “Girl has her priorities straight.” Meanwhile, @tranquilitybyhere pointed out, “Healthy fats and hygiene, that’s a GIRLS GIRL right there.”

According to Child Mind Institute, pretend play is a great tool that helps children develop cognitive abilities. Such playing patterns kick in at 2 years old, where they role-play different scenarios with anything around them, from their stuffed toys, playmates, to even parents and adults. By age four, pretend play shapes up to be more complex, and kids emulate grown-up lives, as was observed in Liberty’s Instagram reel. In addition to having fun and creating fantasy worlds, children also develop skills and knowledge in several areas of life.
