One mom on TikTok, Sacha Trigg (@sachalouisetrigg), has shared a hilarious parenting moment that has everyone in stitches. The viral video captures her 8-year-old daughter dramatically refusing to wear a coat on a winter day. The moment resonated with most parents, as children's tantrums aren't uncommon. Trigg and her daughter live in Greater Manchester, U.K. At times, getting the kids dressed up according to the weather can be a huge task for parents. It's especially hard when your kid's a fashion police.

In the video shared by Trigg, we see her walking along with her daughter on a road covered with snow, holding a red and blue coat in her hand. Despite the winter chills, Trigg's daughter was only wearing a fleece. As reported by Motherly, the caption of the post read, “Holding your daughter’s coat out so that everyone knows she does have a coat she’s just refusing to wear it, but you don’t have time for this argument.” Newsweek also reported that the mom and daughter were on their way to school in the morning when the video was captured.

The video now has thousands of views, and people have filled the comment section with similar experiences they had with their kids or when they were children themselves. One TikTok user, @kittyjude, commented, “Oh my goodness, that made me laugh. This is my daughter and me. She moans that her school bag is too heavy with the coat in it, but I’m like, I’m not having people think u don’t have a coat to wear.” Another person, @mwate_vr, wrote, “Lol my son is the only one in his class without his school uniform jumper! The teacher sent me a picture, and there he was out there in his golf tee while everyone else looked warm! Never-ending sniffles.”

When @shadowcat1976  shared, “When my daughter refused to wear one with weather like this, I asked her outside if she was cold, she shivered no. Never refused to wear one again.” @loly_kamp added, “I'm all covered up head to toes with scarves and a hat, and my daughter is out there with just her hoodie and a hat. She refuses to wear a coat. People must think the worst of me.” Another TikTok user, @emmaf81_, with a similar experience with their child, shared, “My son is still going to school in his shorts! It's an argument not worth having every morning!”

Trigg shared the video as a funny take on parenting, and never thought it would go viral. She also said that by reading the comments, it was clear that the behavior is common among most kids, and it is not an issue unique to her daughter. It highlights that apart from dealing with the stubbornness of the kids, parents also face a lot of pressure to prove to the world that they are a 'good parent.' Moments like these make us realize that parenting is a constant task that requires daily efforts. A study conducted by OnePoll included 2,000 U.S. parents, and 58% of them said schoolday mornings of their kids are the most stressful part of their day. Our advice? Try not to beat yourself up over your kid's wardrobe choices.
