Motherhood is a beautiful experience, but it also brings in challenges for working moms trying to balance both their worlds. Sarah Lohsung Tvrdik, who goes by @sarahinnebraska on Instagram, shared how her retired father had stepped up after she resumed work after giving birth. Having spent a blissful few months spending time with her 8-month-old, Sarah was scared to leave her baby daughter at home and go to work. Her third child, she knew, the precious early years would fly by, and she would miss a chunk of it because of her professional commitments. Noting her distress, her father brightened her life with a heartwarming gesture.

In a now-viral reel, the 40-year-old mother revealed how her father drove her baby daughter to her workplace so they could all have lunch together and catch up on their day. “My retired dad brings my 8-month-old to my work every day so I can have lunch with her,” she wrote on the video with 3.2 million views. Sarah compiled footage of their daily visits into a beautiful snippet showcasing her father’s loving efforts for his daughter. “I was nervous about missing her too much when I returned to work, so he offered to bring her to see me,” she added. The family shared lunches in his car for an hour every day, which the mother said was the “best part” of her workday.

Sharing it on the occasion of Valentine’s Day, Sarah noted, “Love comes in all forms and this has been such a selfless example of that.” A mother of three, her kids, and their grandpa waited in the car while she walked out of her office to join them for lunch. Above all, she was filled with love and gratitude for her father, whom she marked as the most selfless man she’d ever seen. “He is a very hard worker and would give anyone the shirt off his back—literally, I have seen him stop and help strangers countless times in my life,” Sarah told Newsweek. Her dad had “volunteered” to bring her daughter to her work during her lunch break so she could spend more time with both of them. When he offered to help, she had no idea how it would impact her life.

“Most days he goes to pick her up and brings her to me, and we sit in my car and have lunch and catch up,” Sarah added. The situation has been a complete gift for Sarah because she also gets to spend more time with her parents. On days her father cannot bring her kids, her mom drives in to visit. “I look forward to my lunch hour, and it really fills my cup, kind of giving me a boost of energy to power through the rest of the day.” Life is unpredictable, and Sarah is well aware of it. A year ago, her father survived a stroke and is in good health now. Yet, she realized that more time with anyone is never guaranteed in life. Luckily, she gets to do it every day now with the people who matter most.
