The Emotional Reason Why Parents Renewing Their Vows Allowed Their Daughter to Wear a White Dress

Exchanging wedding vows in the presence of family and friends is a memorable and overwhelming experience the first time, but renewing them with their child in attendance takes things to another level for a couple. Such an event combines the joys of marriage and parenthood for another memorable milestone in life. Joel Conder and his wife Sarah were overjoyed since they had all of their five daughters with them for the renewal of their vows, as reported by Your Tango. Though the presence of all their daughters was special to the couple, they were particularly happy that 11-year-old Sophie could make it, since she is a kid with special needs, which makes her days unpredictable. This is why the parents did everything to make sure that she was comfortable enough to show up for the big day, which included allowing her to wear a white dress. The series of emotional videos about the event posted on social media became viral in no time. 

One of the videos features the father narrating the whole experience as he descibed how he and his wife were elated to give the white dress to Sophie. Though they did not realize it at that time, the choice took on a whole new meaning for them since Joel got to walk his princess down the aisle. While the parents have huge hopes for Sophie, her doctors have warned them that she might not make it through her teens. This is why he said, "It's really special to know that whatever happens in her life, like, she at least got to walk down the aisle in a wedding dress." All of this made Sophie's presence the best wedding gift they could have received and the duo will hold the moment when she walked with Joel forever close to their heart.

In another video, the mother talks about the day she took Sophie for the flower girl dress shopping. The plan was to get her the dress she wanted so that, on that front, there were no issues on the big day. Of all the dresses Sophie was shown the one that stole her heart was the white dress with the princess cut. Sophie was so happy, that she was constantly giving a twirl and showing off for her dad. Seeing the smile on her face, there was no doubt in the duo's mind that this was the dress she would be wearing.
