People are loving how this baby had two totally opposite reactions to mom and dad holding her

Like parents, even babies may choose their favorites. A baby girl’s conflicting reaction to her dad holding her versus her mother has sparked a debate about what they might be doing wrong. The dad, Chris, 25, shared a glimpse of his experience with his newborn baby in a viral reel posted to the couple’s joint Instagram, @chrisandchenoa. Meanwhile, in the comments, people theorized the probable reasons that were probably triggering the baby’s explosive response, going from mom to dad’s arms. “Baby’s reaction to dad holding her instead of mom,” a note on the video read.

It begins with the mom carefully holding the baby, named Cozy, and then passing her to her daddy. Chris excitedly spreads out his arms around the baby girl and hugs her, with his cheeks. In a show of love, he pats Cozy’s back and smothers her with sweet kisses. But the dad’s well-meaning intent backfired as the baby suddenly threw a tantrum. With her mother, Cozy seemed calm and content. Shocked, Chris tried his best to cool her down. “What? I was just giving you kisses!” he squeals in a high-pitched tone, patting her back. He then turned towards his wife, looking for reassurance, but only got roasted by her.

“She’s like, ‘I don’t want you’” Chenoa joked. Shooting his shot one more time, Chris tries to kiss his baby, but she briefly whimpers before mom takes over once again. “Cozy never wants me to hold her,” the post was captioned. The viral reel garnered 2.3 million views and 7,200 likes. People had many theories about the baby’s loud cries in her daddy’s arms. “Sandpaper beard feels like swords in your pores. If even one dad reads this and understands, it'll be a win,” wrote @kbeyer89 while @andree_c_b mocked, “Guy should kiss sandpaper and see how it feels for others.”

A few others were not convinced by the way the dad held Cozy. @owlflolvr said, “The way he holds her doesn't seem comfortable. Smacking also is not appreciated.” “Just calm down and be quiet, stop slapping around the back. You’re just very awkward with her,” another harsh comment by @hotmess_hartley stated. “Of course, he wants Mom to hold him. Dad pissed him off,” mentioned @lbj20050606. However, Chris was not discouraged by all the criticism and clarified that Cozy’s tantrums were the usual.

In an interview with Newsweek, he said, "Our baby girl is just over two months old. That reaction is pretty typical for her. She's been all about mom since the beginning." Aware of the baby’s antics, the father said he knew he was going to get “curved,” but Chenoa was left in stitches. She “hasn’t let me live it down,” Chris added. While the internet may be intrigued by the baby’s strong preferences, the father disclosed it is not the “first time” their youngest had done it. "There have definitely been other moments like this. I'll try to hold her, and she'll look at me so offended.” But with Mom, Cozy is the happiest. The family resides in Nashville, and they have a beautiful family of four kids.
