Leaving a workplace where you have served a major part of your professional life is a bittersweet experience unlike any other. But your last day at work can become a memorable one if your colleagues and peers join hands to bid you a heartwarming farewell.

A man named Nacho Zomeño got an emotional send-off on the last day of his work as a school teacher. Good News Correspondent posted footage of Zomeño's farewell on Twitter, in which he is seen surrounded by his colleagues and students with their pens raised. They give him a grand, heartfelt tribute as he walks down the hallway and moves into the courtyard of the school. The video caption explained that "the giving of pens is a sign of respect among colleagues and faculty." The teachers and students later rounded up to applaud Zomeño for his contributions over the years.



 

With a vibrant smile on his face, Zomeño walked out of the building one last time as we see the faculty members placing their pens in a tiny box in front of the retired teacher as he sits in the middle of the school courtyard. The video concludes with the people around Nacho saying "Gracias Maestro!". The retired teacher can carry the box full of pens home and cherish it forever as it has become a part of a fond memory. The video has garnered over 70,000 views so far and many users on Twitter and many have left positive comments under the post.

In another heartwarming story, Dr. Sheridan Steelman received a similar emotional tribute at her high school where she taught for 50 years. In a video, the veteran teacher can be seen stepping down the stairs where she is surprised by everyone from school who has flocked together to bid her farewell.

Steelman’s daughter Katherine posted the video of her mom’s last day at school on her TikTok profile, @katherineinmanhattan. Steelman is visibly surprised by the entire school assembling in order to give her a respectful tribute with applause and cheers as she walks out of her class for the last time. According to the video, she started teaching English at the school when she was only 22 years old. The viral video has received over 1 million views as of now.
