Teacher comes up with a full-body suit to teach anatomy lessons — and she absolutely nailed it

Teachers are always on the pursuit to make boring classes engaging and interesting for the students. But this teacher from Valladolid, Spain, took her efforts a notch up to ensure her students understood the human anatomy in detail. To everyone’s astonishment, Veronica Durque wore a full-body suit to class, which depicted the human anatomy with great clarity. Drawing from years of experience, she realized that this could be a great opportunity for the students to be intrigued about human biology, as she points out every organ printed on the suit.

“I’ve been teaching for 15 years now. I teach natural and social science, art, as well as English and Spanish,” Veronica, 43, told Bored Panda. She had stumbled upon a brilliant bodysuit advertisement on AliExpress and quickly recognized its potential. “I was surfing the internet when an ad for an AliExpress swimsuit popped up. Knowing how hard it is for kids this young to visualize the disposition of internal organs, I thought it was worth it to give it a try.” She said she had been looking for ways to make her class lessons more interesting for the third-graders, who often struggle to visualize the complex biology of a human body. It’s hard to look away from the perfectly aligned graphics of the organs on the body suit.

Right from the leg muscles and tendons to the intensely coiled intestinal organs, the body suit barely missed out on anything. However, the internet was made privy to her extraordinary attempt only after her husband, Michael (@mikemoratinos), posted striking photos from Veronica’s class. Unsurprisingly, she went viral on X, deriving more than 62,000 likes. “Very proud of this volcano of ideas that I am lucky to have as a woman. Today, she explained the human body to her students in a very original way. And the kids freaking out. Great Veronica!!!” Michael captioned the post in December 2019. The comment section was brimming with applause and raves for the teacher and her efforts.

One person (@quintoder13) wrote, “Brilliant. Spectacular. Intelligent. Didactic. Masterful. I'm sure the students won't forget it for the rest of their lives.” Another viewer (@ignaciosoloaga) revealed in a thoughtful note, “She was my tutor in fifth and sixth grade. I remember her with great affection and a lot of love. One of the best teachers I've ever had, and she left the biggest mark on me. I remember some of her classes better than most of my university classes.” Someone claiming to be Veronica’s friend (@irmajmerchan) said, “It's a blessing to be her friend. I applaud each of her initiatives because her imagination knows no bounds.” The comment extoled her professionalism and dedication to her students.
Muy orgulloso de este volcán de ideas que tengo la suerte de tener como mujer😊😊

Meanwhile, the woman in question, Veronica, told the outlet that it is not the first time she has thought about doing something like this. “I decided long ago to use disguises for history lessons. I’m also using cardboard crowns for my students to learn grammatical categories such as nouns, adjectives, and verbs. Different grammar kingdoms, so to speak,” the remarkable teacher said. In addition, she emphasized a teacher’s true potential, contrary to what people generally think of them as “lazy, bureaucratic public servants.”
