This 1-year-old worked YouTube like a pro when his parents said no to watching ‘Ms Rachel’

You are living under a rock if you haven't seen this adorable video of a tech savvy one-year-old . When his parents told him not to watch the popular children's program, Ms. Rachel, on YouTube, the toddler didn’t throw a tantrum; he instead took the matter into his own hands and worked the app like he's been using it for ages. The video clip was shared on TikTok by Mimi Emam (@cybersecuritygirlie8) and has gained thousands of likes and comments, leaving the viewers in stitches.

The video begins with the determined toddler dragging a chair across the room toward a huge screen. With a lot of effort and focus, he manages to climb onto the chair to get closer to the screen. He then confidently swipes in the right direction to find YouTube and scrolls through a list of videos, selecting the 'Ms. Rachel' video that he wanted to watch—all on his own. The text overlay of the video read, "My 1-year-old was told 'no Ms. Rachel'... So, he found another way." As the video went viral, viewers flooded the comment section with their reactions. While many seemed amazed by the toddler's skills, others shared similar stories of their little ones.

One TikTok user, @brownsuga692, commented, “If they start teaching kids with tablets and teach them on their level, our kids would advance quicker. These kids are so much more advanced than we were.” Another person, @kimmyhayes_, wrote, “Wow, an all-in-one genius, problem solver, and solutionist who doesn’t take well to nos. He found an alternative fast. Wow, I’m so blown away by his handsome face. Mom, are you sure he’s 1? I mean, physically he’s 1, but mentally and spiritually he’s really like a 20-year-old brainiac who’s temporarily occupying your home until he becomes the physical adult age to vacate. He will do phenomenal things on Earth. Be blessed.”

@lorlaw456 chimed in, “These children these days are too damn smart. My 3-year-old granddaughter can work an iPhone better than I can. She knows the code and all.” Similarly, @rrecord01 shared, “My granddaughter is the same way! If there’s a device nearby, she will find a way to hack it!” @nuperspective jokingly said, “Ms Rachel is conditioning these kids to love her. 18 years from now, when she announces her presidential campaign, don't be surprised if she wins in a landslide.” While @retiredintucson wrote, “These kids are so smart now, it’s just incredible. I hope they apply it to something good to help this world when they grow up.”

Children these days are much smarter than their parents thanks to the technology they are exposed to early on. With access to smartphones, tablets, and smart TVs, even toddlers are pro at navigating apps and using voice commands. What once seemed advanced for even the older children is now a second nature to little ones. However, it has its disadvantages too. At an age when children should typically be playing outside, many are now choosing screen time instead. In some cases, when screen time is limited or denied, kids even become visibly upset or frustrated. Therefore, it's the responsibilty of the parents to watch what their children are exposed to.
