Every family has a distinction between the oldest, the youngest, and the middle child, but it's largely believed that such a hierarchy isn't an issue for triplets who are born at the same time. To make sure that no one behaves like the oldest and no one is spoiled as the youngest, Stewart Hilbert and Clay Hilbert decided to keep the details about the order in which their triplets were born under wraps. As reported by TODAY, the children tried every method possible to get the information out of their parents, but they were steadfast in their decision. Finally, on their 18th birthday, the parents revealed the secret to them, as they were old enough to rise above stereotypes. The big reveal was published on TikTok by @janie.banie4 in a series of two videos, along with reactions of the siblings.

The first video shows all three kids sitting at the dining table in anticipation with birthday hats, and decorations all around implying that a celebration had taken place. The text overlay on the video reads, "POV- You are a triplet, and your parents waited to tell you birth order until your 18th..." The children were both shocked and overjoyed when the big secret was unveiled and hugged each other, but the 'secret' was not revealed to the viewers.

In a follow-up video, viewers were informed that the first one to be born was Wright, followed by Luke, and the last one was their sister Janie. She made an appearance in a typical youngest-kid fashion, with a bright smile on her face. In the end, all three of them came together to introduce themselves as the "triplets."

Users in the comment section adored the reaction on the triplets' faces and many agreed with the decision of the parents to wait till their 18th birthday. @jordan00442 shared how her parents used the same plan and wrote, "OMG! My parents did the same with me and my sister. I was ecstatic to find out I was born first and my sister was born six years later." @graegoose24 shared how being privy to the information impacted her childhood and commented, "I’m a twin and I can’t imagine my childhood without reminding my brother I’m 1 minute older!"

The parents in an interview explained that they took the call because of their eldest son, Clayton who was 3 at the time of the triplets' birth. He was a sucker for rules and would have tried to enforce things like the eldest gets everything first among other things. “We just didn’t want to play his game, and we were like, alright, let’s just keep it a secret. It’ll be fun. They won’t have to subscribe to any of the stereotypes of oldest, middle, youngest, all that.” Stewart explained. Ultimately the parents were happy they took the call, as it removed the added pressure from their kid's life and also became a fun game to play in the family.
