A recent photo of the 78-year-old Republican at the White House has sparked immense buzz online—not for what’s in plain sight, but for a surprising detail in the background. The image captures Donald Trump grinning behind a model plane, against the backdrop of five presidential portraits. However, when one looks closer, they notice another person—his best ally Elon Musk, whose reflection can be seen in the gold-framed mirror just above Trump's right shoulder. The Tesla CEO's unexpected appearance in what was an official photo, prompted a flurry of reactions online.

On X, (yes, the irony isn't lost that it is Musk's own site), a person zoomed-in on the photo, and commented, "They should call the Ghostbusters, because on every picture of Donald Trump, there is this strange creature, sometimes in the back, sometimes in plain sight. Truly creepy!" In response, another penned, "Expand and you will see Musk in the mirror behind him. Tell me Musk isn’t the real President."

In a similar vein, a comment also read, "Reflected in the picture behind Trump is Elmo making sure Trump says and does all the right things. This should be utterly terrifying to the American people." Chiming in, one remarked, "What an embarrassing picture. I am genuinely laughing my a** off at Elon back there. He is so pathetic. I pray you don't have the same fate, Blake." Meanwhile, a netizen quipped, "Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the actual president of them all."

Given their turbulent history, the sudden friendship between Trump and Musk—two of the most powerful people in the world—just ahead of the 2024 presidential elections, surprised many. Musk penned a heartfelt message of endorsement for the Republican after his first assassination attempt in July last year. Since then, the billionaire businessman has positioned himself as Trump's closest confidant, showing up wherever the politician goes. As such, according to insiders, Trump may already be losing patience with his ultra-rich ally. But for now, both remain politically aligned.

Reports suggest that in the months following the election, Musk has been staying just a stone’s throw away from Trump—renting a $2,000-per-night cottage on the sprawling grounds of the President's Florida estate, as reported by The Independent. Trump spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, also described the duo as great friends and brilliant leaders, working in tandem to, as she put it, "Make America Great Again." She also praised Musk as a visionary whose efficiency could bring much-needed reform to the federal bureaucracy, as reported by NBC News. In another statement, spokesperson, Anna Kelly, praised Musk's inventions and transformative influence on modern technology, hailing him as a trailblazing genius. She emphasized that by developing innovative, effective processes, he has already changed history.
