Wholesome Reason Bride Skips Elaborate Wedding to Get Married at a Hospital
Weddings are meant to celebrate love and togetherness, and any couple would naturally want to commemorate these moments with something special. This is what Elisabeth Linde (@elisabeth3744) wanted out of her own wedding, but more than the arrangements it was the emotion that mattered to her. Therefore, when her father was admitted to a hospital, she decided to shift her wedding to this unconventional venue, so that he could easily attend it. Having a wedding at the hospital was not easy to manage by any means, but she achieved it. The wedding of her dreams took place in the presence of her beloved father, and she shared the entire experience with two videos on TikTok.
In the first one, she is walking through the hospital hallway, instead of an aisle, in a white wedding dress. The bride is seen walking down the hall in a beautiful ensemble with two friends managing her trail. A beautiful rendition of "A Thousand Years" is playing in the background with a large number of people on either side of the hall. The video is captioned with, "The saddest and happiest day of my life."
In the following video, Elisabeth can be seen entering her father's room, where her partner and son are waiting. After exchanging a look with her partner, she turns towards her father and embraces him in an emotional moment. Her mother also comes into the picture and gives them a hug. The bride then began the ceremony while holding on to her father's hand. Despite the video bringing out a lot of emotions, Elisabeth's father did not survive. After his passing, she put up many videos remembering him and his impact on her family. In one of them, he is seen with his grandson who lovingly called him Deeda. Beyond her loss, this was exactly how Elisabeth wanted to remember her father, and also managed to be close to him in his final days during her wedding.
The comment section was flooded with emotional reactions to the ceremony as @terrimartinortiz commented in appreciation of the husband who was on board with the change of plans. @irenejoycehumel shared their thoughts on how the father felt saying, "You gave your dad the best gift. May you have a very happy life."

Elisabeth in an interview with the New York Post, discussed her decision and shed light on what she was going through. “I canceled my wedding and got married in my dad’s hospital room on June 3,” Linde, 31, told The Post. “My dad was one of my biggest supporters. He had to be there.” Her father had been given a mesothelioma diagnosis, and therefore postponing the wedding was not an option. He had to be present on her big day because neither she nor her husband make it here without him. “My husband and I were drug addicts,“ explained the daughter. “My dad helped us get clean and stay clean.” Her parents took them in and got their life back on track.
