Imagine finding packages at your door that you never ordered. A woman on TikTok, @gsy2024, experienced just that when mysterious packages from Walmart flooded her doorstep despite her having never placed an order. A good Samaritan, she shared her experience on social media to alert others about a possible fraud or mix-up that would leave customers at risk. At first, she thought it was just a mistake—but when she saw her ring camera footage, the mystery only grew. She discovered that a delivery man had been putting the Walmart packages at her entrance, and even taking photos of the items as proof.

As reported by The Daily Dot, taking to TikTok, the woman shared, “My husband was walking the dog, and when he stepped outside, he saw these two bags from Walmart. He was like, ‘That’s weird.’ We didn’t order anything from Walmart, and there was no identifying information on them.” After giving the mystery packages to her neighborhood church, she completely forgot about them. But then she received another. It had a name this time, but it was only a last name and an initial. Confused, she searched around her neighborhood, but couldn't find the owner. The woman then finally contacted Walmart in the hopes of receiving some information, as reported by Market Realist.

The elderly woman went the extra mile—creating a new Walmart account just to file a complaint. Following every step, she finally got a call back from a representative named James. He did his best to help her with the little information available and promised the deliveries would stop. But soon, she received a third unidentified package. She said, “I don’t know what’s going on. So, I just wrote that no such person lives here, and I’m gonna put it back in my mailbox and just hope for the best. But I hope it’s not one of those weird scams. I don’t know.”

As the story did the rounds of social media, netizens had a lot to say. On TikTok, a person (@drea7150) shared, “So I work at Walmart, and a lady had called a couple weeks ago, with the same issue. And finally, after the fourth package, her husband had looked at their bank statement, and someone had hacked them.” Another person, @kevinstephaniewal, asked, “How did you get this to stop? Same issue here, received 5 deliveries direct from store (in Walmart bags) and 7 packages and Walmart won't help.” The woman responded with an update. She revealed, “It turned out. It was a credit card scam. Check your credit card accounts.”

Receiving unexpected packages might seem harmless and may also seem exciting, but experts warn that it should actually be very concerning—a brushing scam. This tactic isn’t new, and if it’s happening to you, your personal information could already be in the wrong hands. According to Bao Vang, Vice President of communications at the Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota, scammers are playing the system—manipulating online reviews by shipping out random products. As reported by CBS News, once an item is delivered, it counts as a verified purchase, giving the third-party sellers a boost in search rankings. So, if a mystery package lands on your doorstep, contact the retailer, update your passwords, report the scam, and keep an eye on your bank account because if they have your address, they might have more.
