Woman who had an 'out of her body' experience for 6 minutes reveals who she saw on the 'other side'

The afterlife is often the subject people like to discuss over a cup of coffee. But a Canadian woman, claiming to be a psychic medium, speaks of an experience unlike any other. In December 2021, Amber Cavanagh had a near-death episode when she endured two strokes at age 40 and was rushed to the hospital with grim chances of living. Miraculously, she survived and recovered for the better. However, what Cavanagh experienced in between was a story to tell, something that inspired her book, At the Stroke of Eternity: One Woman’s Remarkable Near-Death Experience and the Divine Messages Received. 

In an exclusive interview with Tyla, the 44-year-old woman opened up about her otherworldly encounter with the other side. "I was very, very near death, and even my kids had to come and say goodbye. It's like you're trapped. I could understand everything everyone was saying, but I couldn't speak,” she said. The doctors had confirmed that Cavanagh was not “likely” to survive, and thus, her family was called to bid their goodbyes. While in a helicopter that was taking her to the hospital, she recalled closing her eyes only to open them in a different world. Cavanagh explained attaining immense peace, love, and understanding as she stood barefoot on the grass of a beautiful garden. 

The woman remembered wearing a “pretty white dress” and being part of something magical.  "The question 'why' and any of the 'who, what, when, where, how' don't exist there. So, the second I was there, I understood everything,” she reminisced. During her out-of-body experience, Cavanagh saw her husband “weeping” over her dying body and then eventually reaching the meeting point of the Earth and heaven. However, the strangest aspect was the crowd of people she saw there. Upon reaching the other side, she witnessed a gazebo full of her guides, her loved ones, like her grandmother, mother-in-law, friends, and even her kids and husband. 

On the right side of the gazebo was a diverse group of people. At that moment, Cavanagh said she realized that they were her other lives lived. "I knew they were all my other lives, and I was all genders, all races, all time, dimensions," she noted, adding that many of them looked like they were from the 1700s and some from the future. The highest form of understanding in that unearthly place allowed her and the others present to communicate without physical signs or speech. The psychic medium explained, "So I didn't go up to my family and hug them or anything like that because you didn't need to. Because everything you thought, they could understand and everything they thought - I could understand.”

Finally, just like in tales and folklore, Cavanagh was posed with a question that would decide her fate from hereon. Her ‘guides’ asked her to choose if she wanted to go back and suffer immensely for 18 months, due to her health recovery, or exist here in the afterlife. Regardless of how tough it would get, Cavanagh was not scared to do the right thing and return to her Earth-bound family. "I finally made the decision that I want to come back. And as quick as I went there. I wasn't there,” she said of her visit. On her Instagram handle @westcoastmedium, the woman has shared glimpses of her shocking recovery, something which her doctors marked as a “miracle.”
