Couple flying to their wedding destination get 'marriage advice' from fellow passengers: 'We will...'

Stepping into married life is a big decision and a milestone in most people’s lives. To ensure they were doing things right, a newlywed couple received a ton of advice from strangers on the airplane they were traveling on. Kristen and Sam flew to their wedding destination in Phoenix, Arizona, on an Alaska Airlines flight. Prepared to turn their life around with a lifelong partnership, the couple was then enlightened with marriage advice penned down on letters from their fellow passengers. On TikTok, Kirsten (@kirstenabsten) posted a cute snippet about their interesting flight journey and showcased the dozens of letters she received.

The Alaska flight attendants went out of their way while on duty to ask for marriage advice from the passengers, going around the seats and collecting the letters. “The sweet flight attendants helped us ask people for marriage advice,” an overlay note on the video read. Eventually, Kirsten started reading some of the advice letters. One of them was from two high school sweethearts who were married for 40 years. Jotting down the advice in four pointers, the letter said, “Our advice to you is never give up. Nothing is perfect. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Never stop communicating. Never go to bed mad. Congratulations!”

Likewise, another precious note stated, “Keep God at the center of your marriage and have fun together.” The letter encouraged them to be best friends first and laugh at the trivial things. “Stick together through the hard times and good times will eventually come again,” the anonymous note added. Amongst the flood of advice, someone told them to “embrace” everything together since their partners shall be the only constant in a changing world. “Rely on each other while seeking out the incredible moments of your journey. It’s beautiful!” All the other notes felt like a blessing for the couple, and they could not thank the flight attendants enough for their kind and selfless gesture.

In the video with 464,000 views, Kirsten captioned, “Marriage advice from our fellow passengers. Thank you to the sweet angels in Alaska for making this happen and to all the people who shared advice. We will cherish these forever.” Not all newlyweds are fortunate enough to receive marriage advice from strangers like Kirsten and Sam. Another heartfelt letter from a stranger thoughtfully noted moments that “matter for intimacy.” “If they give you a quick hug, hold them longer,” a part of it read. People were touched by the ardent gesture and shared messages of love and support for the couple.

One person (@joelycalhoun) wrote, “And I would’ve cried the entire flight reading them.” While another (@pandanomes) suggested, “I would either frame them individually or laminate them somehow and leave them all over the house.” “Crying, humans are amazing,” penned @srob99. An employee from Alaska Airlines (@barrettscarrotts) shared, “Proud to work at Alaska. What a sweet, sweet idea. Congrats to you!” Many viewers encouraged the couple to frame the letters for eternity.
