Kristen Bell donated $100,000 to help strangers clear their medical debt: "The world needs it"
Several celebrities who grew up to be A-list actors started off in the movies at a fairly young age. Kristen Bell is one of them and landed her first acting gig at the age of 12. Bell, who has received multiple awards, is well-known for her iconic appearances in several TV shows and films. However, what truly sets her apart is her kindness both on and off-screen. Recently, she joined forces with Instagram influencer Tommy Marcus, also known as Quentin Quarantino, to contribute a generous amount of $100,000 towards medical bills for those in need.

Marcus took to Instagram to reveal the details of the charity campaign, explaining that for an entire week, they would pick one health-related GoFundMe campaign each day. Every day, donors could contribute, and once a fundraiser reached half of its goal, Bell would step in to finish it off, as reported by The Wrap. He sent a DM to Bell explaining, “The next one needs around $50K raised, so once it hits $25K from followers, you donate $25K and we move on to the next one?” The actress replied, “YES!! TOMMY LETS DO IT! We need to do more things like this, the world needs it.” As she read through the heart-wrenching stories, Bell's heart melted, as reported by the New York Daily News.

Bell and Marcus raised enough funds in just 20 minutes to support a third-grade girl's leukemia treatment. They then focused their efforts on a man battling the same illness, ensuring his treatment was also covered. Talking about Bell's response to his DM, Marcus said, “I first reached out to Kristen with the meager hope she might share one of my fundraising posts like she frequently does. I never imagined she’d respond with a $100,000 pledge to help me and the QQ community achieve change — that she’d respond not with a quick answer, but a real question: How can we use this money to do good?”

Bell and Marcus both understood that they were dedicated to trying to save lives even though they couldn't address the healthcare system's flaws. According to Marcus, the campaign was among the most significant and influential work they had ever done. He praised Bell once more in his heartfelt Instagram Story for supporting his idea and acting as a catalyst to help people get the care they need. According to him, nobody should have to raise money for life-saving medical care in America, but regrettably, that is the reality. He emphasized that since so many of us can help, they couldn't let people suffer alone.
Bell is one of several celebrities who have generously contributed to easing the medical burdens of common people. John Oliver, for instance, made headlines in 2016 by paying off $60,000 to forgive $15 million in medical debt. Philanthropist Mackenzie Scott has also made significant donations, supporting the nonprofit organization Undue Medical Debt, the same group that Oliver collaborated with. Meanwhile, as the raging wildfires continue to destroy neighborhoods in Los Angeles, other stars, including Beyoncé and Leonardo DiCaprio, are also lending their support to those affected, as reported by People Magazine.
