Man FaceTimes his parents while skydiving and their reaction is exactly what you would expect

We love it when our parents can be there for our major life events. Such was also the case with a man named Roger who dialed his parents while he was in mid-air, jumping out of an airplane—sky diving. The thrilling activity was part of a 2015 campaign by Hostelworld. Roger, originally from Ireland, seized the opportunity to partake in a 14,000-foot dive.

In a video that went viral on YouTube, Hostelworld explained, "We went to Bounce Hostel in Sydney to seek out travelers with an adventurous streak. Roger...whilst on a trip around the world, jumped (literally) at the chance to take part in a 14,000-foot skydive with a twist!" They added, "We all know it’s normal to call your parents whilst traveling, usually from the comfort of a hostel or café. But why not share your travel adventures with them firsthand? This is exactly what Roger did. Moments after his plane started its ascent, his parents Pat and Mary received an unexpected call from their son."
The clip featured Roger breaking the news to his parents on Skype. Mid-freefall, his dad, Pat, confused, asks, “I can’t hear a word he’s saying, is he in an airplane or what?” As the situation sinks in, he responds with a mix of shock and disbelief. He said, “F** off.” His mom, Mary, equally stunned, screams, “Aaahh, holy s**!” before quickly clicking a photo on her phone, as reported by Unilad.
The candid reactions left netizens online, amused. On Reddit, a person (u/BackgroundEnd3567), remarked, “I want to be adopted by this family! The love, swearing, and adventure would make my heart full. I’m 44 and American, but I’ve needed new parents since I was 15. It is not too late, right?” Another person (u/danceswithronin), chimed, “My Dad really wants me and him to do this together because he has brought it up multiple times while drunk and I really am afraid of heights and do not want to jump out of a perfectly good airplane. So we're at an impasse.” In a similar vein, a person (u/Wolferesque) joked, “If this was my kid I would have loved every second of it, then told them off and made them promise never to do that to me again.”
Another Redditer (u/Lamprophonia) wondered, “Imagine if instead this was pre-recorded and he snuck into the house while they were watching it, thinking it was live. Then he gets to surprise them twice!” Others were skeptical if the video was a fake. A netizen argued, "I think the video is recorded from the son's phone, which is why his video appears fluid while the parents' video looks poor. From the parents' point of view, the son's video call would likely be choppy and of lower quality."
