Motherhood is never easy. While every mother has their set of challenges, their personality greatly influences their approach to life. "Type A" moms seem to have it all together, while "Type B" moms are rarely worried enough – "Type C" moms lie somewhere just in between. From embracing their chaotic lives head-on to pausing for a moment to reflect on it, mothers who relate to this maternal archetype seem like they are on the verge of giving up, but they never do. TikTok mom, Taylor Vasquez (@taylorvasquez_), who claims to be a Type C mom, recently dropped the much-needed validation that several moms trying to figure it all out have longed for all these years.

“POV: You’re a type C mom,” she teased in an overlay text on the viral video with 6.7 million views. For the moms unversed with this maternal type, Vasquez explains how it feels to juggle motherhood while trying their best to stay sane. “I can’t find my debit card anywhere, but they should take Apple Pay, right?” she said in her first scene, insinuating the chaotic lifestyle Type C moms have. Vasquez then teased the constant overstimulation of having kids around them. “I’m so overstimulated if I hear someone say ‘mom’ one more time, I’m going to lose it,” the mom of two said. Slipping in fleeting but hilarious moments of finding lost items, looking for holiday destinations, and schooling their children, Vasquez perfectly summed up the Type C motherhood experience.

The clip was a hit among moms, and clearly several of them related to her. The chatter in the comments was beyond expected, with one mom after another sharing how “seen” they feel now. @ashleyy..ryan said, “I knew I wasn’t type A and I knew I wasn’t type B. That’s because I am this. I’m type C!” while @tschlu wrote in all caps, “I’ve never felt more seen in my whole life.”

“Okay, so we are living the exact same life. I have to explain to my husband that whatever I have lost will find it,” @champagnemami365 wrote. It also came as an identity awakening for a few other moms. “I was today years old when I found out I’m a type C mom,” quipped @nadiaaa._.p and @withlove.wendy said, “Finally found my type of mothering. I always thought I’d be a type A mom. I was so wrong.”

Colette Brown, a licensed psychotherapist in New York City, talked to TODAY about the many mom types people love to categorize them into. Speaking for the Type Cs, she explained, “Very cerebral and thoughtful ... and emotionally repressed. They’re very prepared and always have a plan.” According to her, Type C is more like Type A but without the strict routines and perfection. “Their kids might not have matching socks, but they’re good about meal planning ... even if it’s breakfast for dinner,” Brown added. In all, the emergence of mom types has one great advantage: it helps the struggling moms realize that it is okay to be the way they are. After all, everyone is trying their best. Or as Brown said, “Moms are no longer looking to conform but rather, be represented.”
